A Massachusetts attorney who billed a client more than $50,000 for representation on a DUI charge was censured by the Board of Bar Overseers.Laurence Fordham, who reportedly described himself as "efficient and economic in the use of [his] time, billed for 153 hours of his own time and 74 hours of associates' time on the case. Experts who testified at board hearings had never heard of a fee in excess of $15,000 for a first offense DUI case according to the court.
